How to Unlock an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (with Pictures)

Forget your passcode? Fortunately, it’s fairly easy to reset your phone so that you can use it again. The downside is that you’ll have to wipe it first, but if you’ve backed it up this will be no problem at all.
STEPS

1
PUT YOUR DEVICE IN RECOVERY MODE. To do so, press your Sleep/Wake button until the phone turns off, and then press the Home button until the white Apple logo appears on your screen. Continue holding the button until the device prompts you to “Connect to iTunes”.

2
CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO YOUR COMPUTER. If you backed up your device to a computer, you should use the same one. If you backed up to iCloud, however, simply make sure that you have logged into your Apple ID account on iTunes.

3
ITUNES WILL AUTOMATICALLY DETECT THAT A DEVICE IN RECOVERY MODE HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO YOUR COMPUTER. Click “Ok” to restore the device. Note: all content and settings will be erased.

4
RESTORE FROM BACKUP. Once all content and settings are erased, iTunes will give you the option to restore from backup. You can sort through backups that have been stored on iTunes or iCloud; generally, you will probably want to use the most recent backup.
